 Classroom Info

At Hopkins Elementary we learn music by using Solfege in the Kodaly method to learn notes and rhythms vocally using Folk songs and game play.  We utilize Orff instruments (recorder, xylophones, metallophones, glockenspiels, handdrums, etc...) to learn how to play multiple instruments using the treble staff.

Hopkins Elementary is unique in the fact that we have two choirs available to students.  A first, second and third grade choir called Junior Choir and a fourth and fifth grade performance choir called the Hopkins Chorale.  For more information about the Hopkins Choral Program, please visit our news and info portion of the website.
